Agartala, September 22: Young chess player Aradhya Das was felicitated by Tripura Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Tinku Roy at the state secretariat on Tuesday after her unbeaten triumph at the 39th National Under-13 Girls Chess Championship.
Aradhya, a Tripura student, emerged undefeated champion at the championship organised at Amalorpavam Higher Secondary School in Puducherry, delivering a notable performance on the national stage.
Her achievement has brought recognition to the state’s growing sporting talent, particularly in chess, while highlighting the potential of young players from Tripura to compete successfully at the national level.
Speaking at the felicitation ceremony, Roy congratulated Aradhya for her performance and said her success could motivate other young chess players in the state to take up the sport seriously and pursue higher levels of competition.
“Her achievement is a beacon of hope for budding players, proving that with discipline and determination, national recognition is within reach,” the minister said.
Roy also conveyed his best wishes to Aradhya for her future competitions and expressed hope that she would continue to achieve success in the sport and bring further recognition to Tripura.
The minister said the state government remains committed to identifying and supporting young sporting talent and creating opportunities for athletes to compete at national and international levels.
