Agartala: Jan 20: Tripura is gearing up to boost its tourism sector, with the state government announcing plans to develop eco-tourism at the Unakoti Sonamukhi tourist destination. This iconic site, recognized by the Archaeological Survey of India, will undergo significant development to enhance its appeal as an eco-tourism hub, with a substantial investment of Rs. 70 crore allocated for these activities.

To further promote tourism, the government is planning a special tourism circuit in South Tripura, which will include popular attractions like, Pilak Archaeological Site: A treasure trove of historical artifacts and structures, Mahamuni Buddhist Pagoda: A sacred site for Buddhist devotees, Maitri Setu: A bridge connecting India and Bangladesh, symbolizing friendship and cooperation, Trishna Wildlife Sanctuary: A haven for nature lovers and wildlife enthusiasts
