Santirbazar, October 2: A physiotherapy clinic was inaugurated at the Santirbazar District Hospital premises in South Tripura on Friday, with organisers describing it as an effort to improve access to rehabilitation and mobility-related healthcare services in the district.

The Sunshine Physiotherapy Clinic, established on the initiative of Dr Sairan Saha, was formally inaugurated by Prabhu Karuneshwar Madhav Das, spiritual leader of the ISKCON-run Jagannath Ji Temple at Baikhora.

The inauguration ceremony was conducted in the presence of local representatives, officials and community members.

The programme began with traditional rituals, including ribbon cutting, lighting of incense and chanting of Vedic mantras, led by Prabhu Das.

Among those present were Buddha Bhanteji, Santirbazar Municipal Council Chairman Sapna Baidya, Vice-Chairman Satyabrata Saha, Deputy Chief Executive Officer Pabitra Das and Councillor Nepal Chandra Das.

Other officials and community leaders also attended the programme.

The clinic authorities said free physiotherapy services would be provided to patients visiting the facility on the inaugural day. The initiative was aimed at introducing local residents to the services available at the newly established clinic.

The facility is expected to cater to patients requiring physiotherapy and rehabilitation support, including those seeking assistance with pain management, mobility and recovery from physical ailments and injuries.

Speaking at the inauguration, Prabhu Karuneshwar Madhav Das expressed hope that the facility would benefit people from Santirbazar and other parts of South Tripura.

He said the availability of physiotherapy services closer to people's homes would help reduce the need for patients to travel long distances to access specialised rehabilitation care.

The inauguration was also attended by local residents, who welcomed the establishment of the clinic at the district hospital premises.

Residents said the facility's location would make physiotherapy services more accessible and could also help patients combine rehabilitation care with other medical services available at the hospital.

Organisers said the clinic was established with the objective of addressing the growing need for physiotherapy and rehabilitation services in the region.

The facility is expected to provide support to patients recovering from injuries, physical conditions and mobility-related problems, while also helping them in their rehabilitation process.

The inauguration marked the beginning of the clinic's services and brought together healthcare professionals, civic representatives, officials and members of the local community.
