Agartala, Nov 3 : Members of the All Tripura School Computer Teachers' Association (ATSCTA) on Tuesday submitted memorandums to Chief Minister Manik Saha through district magistrates in all eight districts, seeking implementation of pending salary revision and improvement in their service conditions.
The statewide initiative was organised to draw the government's attention to a range of unresolved issues concerning salary structures, employment security, service benefits and other professional grievances of computer teachers working in schools across Tripura.
The association said several of its demands had remained unaddressed despite repeated representations to the authorities over the past few years, prompting it to seek direct intervention from the chief minister.
A key demand raised in the memorandum is the implementation of the 2021 guidelines concerning salary enhancement for school computer teachers, which the organisation claimed has been pending for a considerable period.
Besides the salary revision, the association has submitted a 12-point charter of demands covering various aspects of service conditions, employment benefits, wage structure and job security.
Association leaders maintained that computer education has become an essential component of the modern school curriculum, but teachers engaged in delivering digital education continue to face uncertainty over their salaries and employment-related benefits.
They said addressing these long-pending issues would not only improve the financial and professional security of computer teachers but also strengthen the delivery of computer education in government schools.
As part of the coordinated programme, delegations of the association submitted memorandums to the respective district magistrates across the state for onward transmission to the chief minister.
In Khowai district, a delegation handed over the memorandum to the district magistrate. The programme was attended by ATSCTA state committee member Sanku Sarma, Khowai district president Binoy Kumar Saha, district general secretary Akash Das and several other office-bearers and members.
The association expressed hope that the state government would consider its demands favourably and take concrete steps to resolve the grievances.
It said an early decision on salary revision and other service-related matters would boost the morale of computer teachers and ensure greater stability in the state's school-level digital education system.
The association has urged the government to address the issues at the earliest, saying its members have been waiting for a resolution for several years.
