Agartala: Mar 05: Over 500 employees working for Tripura Vidyut Nigam under a private company, Advanced Route Technology Information Private Limited, have alleged that they have not received their full salaries for the past five months. These employees, who have been working with the company for the past two years, claim that only partial payments have been made, with one month’s salary being disbursed each month, leaving the outstanding balance unpaid.

On Wednesday, these employees protested outside the company’s office in Joy Nagar, Agartala, voicing their frustration over the ongoing salary issue. According to the workers, despite repeated attempts to address the matter with the company’s officials, their concerns were ignored, and the company failed to provide any clear explanation for the salary delay.

The employees, representing various parts of the state, have expressed their dissatisfaction with the company’s failure to pay the full salaries, which has caused significant financial hardship for many. One of the employees stated, “We have been working diligently for the past two years, but now we are struggling to meet our basic needs due to the company’s negligence.”

The workers have warned that if the pending salaries are not cleared within the next week, they will escalate their protest into a larger movement, which could include a statewide strike or other forms of organized action. The employees are demanding that the company settle the outstanding payments immediately to avoid further unrest.

This situation has drawn attention to the concerns of contractual workers in private companies, particularly in sectors like power distribution, where such payment issues can disrupt daily operations and create tension among employees. The workers remain hopeful that their concerns will be addressed in the coming days to avoid further escalation.
