Agartala, Oct 24: Ratan Lal Nath, Hon’ble Minister for Power, Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Department, paid a courtesy visit to Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu at Raj Bhavan, Agartala, on Friday morning.
During the meeting, the Minister briefed the Governor on various ongoing and upcoming initiatives under the Power and Agriculture departments, focusing on the government’s commitment to strengthening Tripura’s rural economy and ensuring reliable power supply across the state.
Sources said the discussion covered key issues such as the implementation of farmer-centric welfare schemes, enhancement of agricultural productivity through modern technology, and promotion of renewable energy initiatives in line with Tripura’s sustainable development goals.
Minister Nath also apprised the Governor of the progress in expanding rural electrification and improving power infrastructure to ensure uninterrupted electricity in both urban and remote areas. He highlighted the state government’s efforts to make Tripura self-reliant in agricultural production and to empower farmers through timely distribution of seeds, fertilizers, and irrigation facilities.
The Governor appreciated the Minister’s efforts and emphasized the need for continued coordination between departments to achieve holistic development in the agriculture and energy sectors. He lauded the state government’s initiatives aimed at uplifting the farming community and ensuring that welfare schemes reach beneficiaries efficiently.
