Agartala, May 3: A public awareness campaign on the Waqf Amendment Bill was organized today at Dasharath Deb Memorial Hall in Supari Bagan by the Janjati Morcha, Tripura Pradesh. The event was marked by the presence of State BJP President and Member of Parliament Rajib Bhattacharjee, who used the platform to strongly criticize the opposition parties.

Addressing the gathering, Bhattacharjee accused the opposition of deliberately spreading misinformation and confusion among various sections of society regarding the Waqf Amendment Bill, recently passed in both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. He claimed that the opposition is trying to mislead and provoke certain communities for political gain.

He stated that the BJP central leadership has directed the organization to conduct such awareness campaigns to explain the true intent and factual details of the bill. “The opposition’s attempt to create fear among minorities by twisting facts is highly condemnable,” he said.

Bhattacharjee emphasized that the campaign aims to educate people from all sections of society about the provisions and objectives of the amendment. He asserted that the BJP stands for transparency and harmony, and efforts are being made to ensure that the public is not swayed by misinformation.

He also announced that similar awareness programs will be organized in the future by the BJP’s youth wing, women’s wing, and other allied organizations. The event concluded with a call for unity and understanding, urging people to stay informed and not fall prey to political propaganda.

The campaign witnessed participation from party workers, community members, and leaders who echoed the need to promote factual awareness regarding legislative changes affecting society.
