Mumbai, June 8: Actor Rahul Roy, who often refers to himself as an influencer, has taken a nostalgic trip down memory lane by recreating the charm of his popular song Tere Dar Par Sanam from the 1993 film Phir Teri Kahani Yaad Aayee. The actor recently shared a video on Instagram in which he is seen strolling through a garden dressed in an all-white outfit, with the classic Kumar Sanu track playing in the background.
Captioning the post, Rahul wrote, “Sometimes I am also an Influencer,” adding a playful touch to the throwback moment. The short clip quickly caught the attention of fans who fondly remembered the song and the film that became a part of Bollywood’s romantic era.
Phir Teri Kahani Yaad Aayee, directed by Mahesh Bhatt, starred Rahul Roy and Pooja Bhatt in lead roles. The film’s memorable song Tere Dar Par Sanam was sung by Kumar Sanu and Sadhana Sargam in male and female versions, and remains one of the standout tracks from the era. The story followed a troubled romance, with Rahul’s character falling in love with Pooja’s mentally unstable character, who is later sent to an asylum and dies in a fire. Her memories continue to haunt him, leaving him unable to move on.
Rahul Roy first rose to fame with his debut film Aashiqui in 1990, which turned into a massive blockbuster. His pairing with Anu Aggarwal became iconic, and the film’s music made both stars overnight sensations. He later appeared in films such as Junoon, Sapne Saajan Ke, Phir Teri Kahani Yaad Aayee and Gumrah.
The actor also won the first season of Bigg Boss and faced a difficult phase in 2020 after suffering a brain stroke while shooting in Kargil. His latest film appearance was in Agra (2023), an erotic psychological drama that premiered at the Cannes Film Festival’s Directors’ Fortnight.
