Agartala, July 25: In a renewed call for justice, aspirants of the 2022 Selection Test for Graduate Teachers (STGT) staged a protest in Agartala on Friday, demanding the immediate publication of their long-pending results and swift recruitment into teaching positions.

The candidates, who have been waiting for nearly three years, gathered outside Siksha Bhavan and submitted a deputation to the Director of Education, urging urgent action from the authorities.

“We have approached every concerned authority and staged multiple demonstrations, but no one has given us a clear answer,” said one of the agitating candidates. Their plea reflects the growing frustration and anxiety among hundreds of job seekers whose futures hang in uncertainty.

Despite their tireless efforts and months of preparation, the STGT 2022 results remain unreleased. Aspirants now fear they may cross the upper age limit for government jobs, jeopardizing their eligibility for future opportunities. “We are living in fear of an uncertain future,” another protester shared.

The candidates have directly appealed to Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha for intervention, urging him to ensure that all qualified candidates are recruited simultaneously without further delay.

“This delay is not just about time—it’s about our lives and livelihoods,” said another protester. Many expressed concern that their aspirations are being crushed due to bureaucratic apathy and inaction.

The protestors highlighted how the department’s prolonged silence is taking an emotional toll on families who invested their hopes in these aspirants.

With no concrete assurance from the authorities yet, the protest continues, with candidates urging the government to act decisively and release the results to protect the future of deserving youth in the state’s education sector.
