Agartala: Jan 31: A three-day national Vedic seminar titled ‘The Contribution of Vedas in Promoting Indian Knowledge Tradition’ was successfully held from January 29 to 31, 2025. Organized by the Central Sanskrit University Eklavya Campus and Maharshi Sandipani Rashtriya Vedavidya (Ujjain), the seminar brought together scholars, experts, and enthusiasts to explore the profound impact of Vedic knowledge on India’s intellectual and cultural heritage.

During the concluding ceremony, Shri Debashish Nandi, the Chief Guest and Speaker of the Land Port Authority (Agartala), highlighted the importance of integrating modern perspectives with traditional Vedic wisdom. He emphasized the need for a holistic approach that combines the ancient knowledge of the Vedas with contemporary scientific and philosophical thinking. Professor Yogesh Pratap Singh, Vice Chancellor of Rashtriya Vidhi Vishwavidyalaya, elaborated on the various contributions of the Vedas to multiple academic disciplines, including law, philosophy, and governance.

In his speech, Professor Manoj Kumar Mishra, Head of the Department of Vedas at the Central Sanskrit University, New Delhi, stressed the importance of research, preservation, and analysis of Vedic texts. Professor Anand Mishra from the University of Heidelberg, Germany, joined online and discussed the contemporary applications of Vedic knowledge in areas such as environmental sustainability and holistic health. Professor Rabindra Nath Bhattacharya underscored the ongoing relevance of Indian scriptures in the modern world.

The seminar was presided over by Professor Prabhat Kumar Mahapatra, Director of the Central Sanskrit University, Eklavya Campus, Tripura. Dr. Prakash Rajan Mishra, the Coordinator, and Dr. Ashish Mishra, the Co-Coordinator, highlighted the seminar’s objectives to deepen the understanding of Vedic knowledge and its contemporary significance.

This seminar proved to be an invaluable platform for furthering the study of Vedas and promoting their relevance in today’s world.
