Agartala, Sep 30: Tripura Tribal Welfare Minister Bikash Debbarma on Monday inaugurated traditional ornament and musical instrument distribution programme here at Agartala and said that the government has already taken the initiative to develop the culture and tradition of the tribals in Tripura in addition to their development of socio-economic status.
Addressing the programme here in the auditorium of the Tribal Research and Cultural Institute, the minister said that an initiative has been taken to provide traditional ornaments, musical instruments, dance accessories and clothing to 39 different tribal cultural organizations of the state.
He expressed hope that the initiative of the state government in distribution of such materials will increase the awareness among the people about their own culture and also create different means of earning.
