Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha today hailed the 2025-26 Financial Year’s budget as an inclusive budget focused on the overall development of the state. Addressing the Legislative Assembly, Dr. Saha praised Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy for presenting a budget that reflects Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas”—a vision that ensures development for all and fosters trust across society.
Dr. Saha congratulated Minister Roy for successfully managing a budget allocation that exceeds ₹32,000 crore, while expressing optimism that the expected deficit of ₹429 crore will be addressed. He highlighted several key initiatives included in the budget that aim to benefit the state’s citizens, such as the Bharat Mata Canteen, an entertainment center for the intellectually disabled, and the Mukhyamantri Kanya Bibaha Yojana and Mukhyamantri Balika Samriddhi Yojana—schemes designed to empower women and girls in Tripura. Additionally, the budget includes the establishment of a Centre for Computer-Based Exams and a Tripura Competitive Examination Centre to facilitate education and competitive exams for the youth of the state.
Dr. Saha emphasized that this budget stands out as exceptional and has never been seen before in the state, urging full support from all sectors. Furthermore, the Chief Minister announced a 3% Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) hike for government employees and pensioners, offering a significant relief to public-sector workers. He expressed confidence that this budget will pave the way for enhanced development and welfare for all sections of society.
