Agartala, May 21: Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Thursday reiterated the state government’s commitment to building a modern, disciplined and people-friendly police force dedicated to serving society with integrity, courage and compassion.

The Chief Minister made the remarks while addressing the Passing Out Parade of the 91st and 92nd batches of Recruit Constables (Men and Women) at the KTD Singh Police Training Academy. The event marked a significant milestone for hundreds of recruits entering the state police service.

A total of 476 recruit constables, including 318 women and 158 men, formally joined the Tripura Police after successfully completing 11 months of intensive training at the academy. Additionally, another 475 recruits underwent training at the R.K. Nagar TSR Training Centre.

Describing the occasion as a proud moment, Saha congratulated the newly inducted personnel and praised their dedication and discipline during the training period. He also highlighted the increasing participation of women in the police force, noting that the induction of 318 women constables reflects the growing role of women in law enforcement and aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of women empowerment.

The Chief Minister also commended the parade performance and particularly appreciated the contribution and presence of women personnel in the graduating batches.

Director General of Police Anurag, Principal of KTD Singh Police Training Academy Jayanta Chakraborty, senior police officials and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.

Meanwhile, Tripura Police has introduced an important safety enhancement under the 112 India emergency application by enabling the “Track Me” feature in the state. With this initiative, Tripura has become the first state in the country to adopt the feature.

Officials said the “Track Me” option is intended particularly for women and elderly individuals travelling alone or during late hours. Through this feature, the Emergency Response Support System (ERSS) control room can monitor the user’s movement through real-time location sharing.

In emergency situations, users can press the danger button within the application, enabling emergency response teams to immediately identify and reach the location. Authorities confirmed that successful testing of the feature has already been conducted by the ERSS team of Tripura Police.
