Agartala: April 22: Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President Asish Kumar Saha on Tuesday announced a major political outreach initiative, revealing that the Congress Party will soon embark on a year-long door-to-door mass contact campaign with the slogan “Save Constitution” at its core.

Speaking at a press conference at the Congress Bhavan, Saha stated, “We have convened a meeting to ensure that all frontal wings, cells, and departments of the party are made aware of the forthcoming political programmes.” He emphasized that 2025 will be dedicated to organizational revival, and several long-term initiatives will be rolled out to re-energize the party at all levels.

Elaborating on the action plan, Saha said that over the next one and a half months, the party will hold protest rallies at the state, district, and block levels under the banner of the “Save Constitution” campaign. Following this, the Congress will initiate a one-year-long door-to-door campaign aimed at strengthening grassroots engagement and public awareness on key national issues.

When asked about the primary focus areas of the campaign, Saha underlined that the party’s central demand would be the implementation of a caste census. “As per the AICC’s decision, we will organize extensive public outreach and protests across all organizational levels. Based on the caste census data, reservation policies must be revised to ensure social justice,” he said.

He further stated that the Congress would also support anti-Waqf protests to protect the fundamental rights of the Muslim community, asserting that arbitrary laws should not infringe on constitutional freedoms.

The campaign is expected to be a major step in reviving the Congress’s political base in Tripura, with a focus on constitutional values, social equity, and grassroots mobilization.
