Agartala, May 12: A significant milestone awaits nearly a thousand young men and women in Tripura as the state government prepares to distribute offer letters to 979 newly selected constables of Tripura Police. The official ceremony will take place on Tuesday at Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhavan in Agartala.
Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, along with Director General of Police Amitabh Ranjan, ministers, and senior officials, will be present at the event to hand over the appointment letters to the successful candidates.
This comes following the release of the final merit list on April 3, marking the end of a long and rigorous recruitment process. The candidates were selected through a comprehensive evaluation that included physical efficiency tests, written examinations, and personal interaction rounds.
Out of the total 979 posts, 647 are for men and 332 for women. In the male category, selected candidates include 376 from the unreserved (UR) category, 56 from Scheduled Castes (SC), 210 from Scheduled Tribes (ST), and 26 ex-servicemen. Among the women, the appointments include 193 from UR, 30 from SC, and 109 from ST categories—filling all allocated vacancies.
This large-scale recruitment drive aims to strengthen the state’s police force and enhance law enforcement capabilities. The newly appointed constables are expected to undergo further training before officially joining duty.
Earlier, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha had congratulated the selected candidates via a social media post, stating, “Congratulations to all the selected candidates of constables (Men & Women) of Tripura Police! Your hard work and dedication have truly paid off. Wishing you all the best in your future endeavors.”
The distribution ceremony marks not just a new chapter for the recruits, but also a move towards improved public safety and policing in Tripura.
