In a significant push to strengthen Tripura’s tourism sector and elevate its status on the global tourism map, the state government is launching a series of infrastructure-driven initiatives. The Tourism Department is making consistent efforts to improve amenities and attract more visitors, both domestic and international.

As part of this initiative, Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha will soon lay the foundation stone for multiple tourism projects worth ₹18 crore. A major highlight of this development is the complete renovation and upgradation of the historic Kasba View Lodge—previously known as the Comilla View Tourist Lodge—situated within the sacred premises of the Kasbeswari Kali Temple at Kamalasagar.

The newly revamped lodge is expected to be completed in the coming weeks and will significantly enhance the tourism appeal of the area, offering improved facilities and accommodations for pilgrims and tourists.

On Tuesday, Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury, along with the local MLA, senior officials, and engineers, visited the construction site to assess ongoing work. During the inspection, he directed officials to maintain high quality standards and ensure timely completion of the project.

Minister Chowdhury emphasized the government’s commitment to positioning Tripura as a premier travel destination through strategic investments, modernization, and infrastructure development. “These initiatives reflect our dedication to transforming Tripura’s tourism landscape and creating world-class facilities for visitors,” he stated.

During the visit, the minister also offered prayers at the revered Kasbeswari Kali Temple, reinforcing the state’s focus on integrating cultural heritage with tourism development.

These projects are expected to create new opportunities for the hospitality and service sectors while strengthening Tripura’s cultural and spiritual tourism offerings.
