Agartala: July 12:Tripura Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury has called for the urgent completion of the pending works at the Inter-State Truck Terminal (ISTT) in Madhavbari, Jirania. Chairing a meeting of the Interstate Truck Terminal Development Society at the terminal’s conference hall today, the Minister stressed the need for efficient management, coordination, and a disciplined operational environment.

Chowdhury emphasized that the terminal must become fully operational without delay to meet the growing demands of interstate freight transport. He directed all concerned departments and stakeholders to work collaboratively, ensuring that unfinished construction and logistical tasks are completed at the earliest.

To maintain order within the terminal premises, the Minister instructed administrative officials to implement strict monitoring systems. “There must be no room for indiscipline or mismanagement. A coordinated approach, with clear distribution of responsibilities, is essential,” he said, underscoring the importance of professionalism and mutual cooperation.

The meeting was attended by a host of key stakeholders including Jirania Panchayat Samiti Chairman Pritam Debnath, Ranirbazar Municipal Council Vice-Chairperson Prabir Kumar Das, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Animesh Dhar, Additional SP (Sadar Rural) Himadri Prasad Das, social worker Gauranga Bhowmik, and Ranjit Ray Choudhury. Members of the Terminal Development Society, along with representatives from the Public Works Department and other concerned agencies, were also present.

The Madhavbari ISTT is expected to play a critical role in enhancing Tripura’s transport infrastructure and trade connectivity with neighboring states. The minister’s directive aims to expedite the project, ensuring the terminal functions as a model facility for logistics and transport efficiency in the region.
