An unidentified individual lost his life after being struck by the Silchar–Agartala special train near Budh Para, approximately one kilometre from Churaibari railway station, on Tuesday afternoon. The tragic incident has triggered an investigation by railway and local police authorities.

According to eyewitness accounts, the incident occurred around 12:30 p.m., shortly after the train departed from Churaibari station and was moving at considerable speed toward its next destination. The person was reportedly walking along the railway track in the Budh Para area at the time of the incident.

Eyewitnesses stated that the train driver sounded repeated horn signals upon noticing the individual on the tracks. However, the person did not respond or move away in time. As a result, he was hit by the fast-moving train and died on the spot due to the impact.

Local residents who witnessed the incident immediately rushed to the scene and informed railway authorities. Personnel from the Railway Protection Force (RPF) arrived at the location soon after. With assistance from local police, the body was recovered from the tracks and later handed over to the Dharmanagar Railway Police for further legal procedures and investigation.

As of the latest reports, the identity of the deceased remains unknown. No documents or personal belongings were found that could immediately help establish his identity. Some local residents speculated that the individual may have been mentally unstable, as he appeared unaware of the approaching train and failed to react despite warning signals. However, officials have clarified that this assumption has not been confirmed and remains purely speculative.

Authorities have initiated an inquiry to determine the exact circumstances leading to the incident. Efforts are also being made to identify the deceased and inform his family, if possible. The body is expected to be sent for post-mortem examination as part of standard procedure.

Railway officials have once again urged the public to avoid walking along railway tracks, warning that such actions pose serious risks and can lead to fatal accidents.
