Agartala: Jan 22: The 35th Industry and Commerce Fair is set to begin on January 29th at the Hapaniya International Trade Fair and Exhibition Ground in Agartala, with the fair running until February 12th. The event will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha. This announcement was made by the Minister of Industries and Commerce, Santana Chakma, at a press conference held on Wednesday at the Department of Industries and Commerce.

Minister Chakma highlighted that, in line with previous editions, this year’s fair will feature a display of modern technologies. Various technical institutions and organizations in Tripura will showcase innovations such as startups, drone technology, electric vehicles, and automated machinery. The fair will bring together a diverse group of participants, including government departments, PSUs, private organizations, local entrepreneurs, and businessmen. Both national and international exhibitors will also present their products, with displays covering a wide range of sectors, including handicrafts, garments, jewelry, furniture, electrical equipment, automobiles, agricultural and horticultural products, and food items. Special emphasis has been placed on promoting local businesses this year, and the number of participating businessmen has increased significantly—from 269 last year to 515 this year.

In addition to the fair, a significant event, the “Destination Tripura: Business Conclave,” will be held on February 7th and 8th at the Agartala Hotel Polo Tower. More than 150 investors from within the state and beyond will participate in the conclave, aimed at showcasing Tripura’s investment potential. The conclave will focus on key sectors such as tourism, IT, education, and healthcare, and aims to position Tripura as a leading investment hub in Northeast India.

The press conference was also attended by Nabadal Barik, of the Department of Industries and Commerce, and Kiran Gitte, an officer from the department.
