Agartala, June 9: A major reshuffle within the Tripura Police department at the Officer-in-Charge (OC) and Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) levels is expected to be implemented shortly. According to official sources, the transfer process is likely to take place in phases, with the first round already underway. On Monday, the state government issued transfer and posting orders for nine police officers, including several Officers-in-Charge of police stations across different districts.
As per the notification, Inspector Subimal Barman, who was serving as the Officer-in-Charge of Kalamchoura Police Station, has been transferred to West Tripura district. Replacing him, Inspector Himadri Sarkar, formerly posted as Court Inspector in West Tripura, has been appointed as the new OC of Kalamchoura Police Station.
In another significant move, Inspector Jayanta Malakar, OC of Kakraban Police Station, has been transferred to North Tripura district. Inspector Gopal Sukladas, who was serving in West Tripura district, has been posted as the new Officer-in-Charge of Kakraban Police Station.
Inspector Bikash Debbarma, OC of Killa Police Station, has been shifted to Khowai district. Taking over his responsibilities at Killa Police Station will be Inspector Arup Debbarma, who was previously posted in Sepahijala district.
The transfer order also includes Inspector Shakti Sadhan Jamatia, who has been posted as OC of Jampuijala Police Station from Gomati district. Inspector Sanesh Debbarma, currently serving in Khowai district, has been appointed as the new OC of Champahour Police Station.
Additionally, Sub-Inspector Samaresh Chakma, who was posted in West Tripura district, has been assigned as the Officer-in-Charge of Baijalbari Police Station.
The order directs all concerned district Superintendents of Police and other officials to ensure immediate implementation of the transfers. More changes are expected as part of the larger administrative reshuffle.
