Agartala, February 23, 2026: In a heartfelt celebration of motherhood, Shyam Sundar Co Jewellers presented its special initiative, ‘Sricharaneshu Ma’, at Sandhyaneer, Agartala, on Monday.
‘Sricharaneshu Ma’ is a tribute to women who embody the true essence of motherhood. The initiative goes beyond the traditional gesture of touching a mother’s feet to express respect; it seeks to honour, cherish, and care for mothers—especially those who are spending the evening of their lives away from their families. This year’s edition was dedicated to the elderly mothers residing at Sandhyaneer, a home for women who no longer have families to call their own.
The programme was marked by warmth, affection, and celebration, reflecting the spirit of the New Year 2026. The Directors of Shyam Sundar Co Jewellers handed over a cheque of Rs 1,20,000 towards the welfare of the residents. The event also featured gifting and moments of shared joy, lighting up the faces of the mothers and filling their hearts with happiness.
Arpita Saha, Director of Shyam Sundar Co Jewellers, said the organisation has always believed in extending its pursuit of excellence beyond its showrooms by responding to social needs. She expressed immense joy in being able to celebrate mothers and motherhood at Sandhyaneer, adding that nothing is more precious than a mother.
Rishiroop Saha, Director, emphasised that caring for mothers—especially when they are no longer able to fend for themselves—is the responsibility of every son and daughter. He described ‘Sricharaneshu Ma’ as a step towards creating a broader movement to bring smiles to abandoned mothers.
The programme concluded with a sit-in lunch, ending the day on a sweet and memorable note.
