Agartala: Feb 26: A Bangladeshi woman, Jasmin Khatun, 24, from Tangail, Bangladesh, was detained by the Agartala GRP station police on Tuesday afternoon. She was caught during a joint operation by the RPF, BSF, and Agartala GRP station police at Agartala railway station. According to Tapas Das, OC of Agartala GRP station, Jasmin had entered Tripura illegally and was planning to travel to Kolkata.
A case has been registered against her, and she was produced in court on Wednesday. This incident is not the first of its kind, as two Bangladeshi women, Nilufa Begum and Jiasmin, were detained at Agartala railway station in December 2024 for illegal entry into India.
