Chakmaghat, June 14: As part of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s ongoing “Booth Chalo Abhiyan”, Tripura Tribal Welfare Minister Bikash Debbarma attended a booth-level meeting at Chakmaghat under the Krishnapur Assembly Constituency on Saturday. The programme, organized by the 28th Booth Committee, witnessed enthusiastic participation from local residents and party workers.

The meeting served as a platform for direct interaction between the minister and the local population, allowing residents to raise several issues affecting their daily lives. Among the key concerns highlighted were the shortage of drinking water, poor road connectivity, and inadequate communication facilities in the area.

Addressing the gathering, Debbarma listened to the grievances of the residents and assured them that the state government is committed to resolving these problems on a priority basis. He stated that infrastructure development remains one of the government’s primary focuses, particularly in rural and tribal-dominated regions.

In a significant announcement, the minister revealed that a new concrete road project worth nearly ₹2 crore has been sanctioned for Chakmaghat. The project is expected to improve connectivity and ease transportation challenges faced by local residents. He expressed confidence that the road construction work would contribute substantially to the region’s overall development.

On the issue of drinking water scarcity, Debbarma acknowledged that it has been a long-standing concern for the people of Chakmaghat. He assured residents that necessary measures are being taken to strengthen water supply infrastructure and provide a sustainable solution to the problem.

The Tribal Welfare Minister emphasized that the BJP-led government is working with a people-centric approach and remains dedicated to meeting public expectations. He said developmental initiatives are being implemented at the grassroots level to ensure that the benefits of government schemes reach every household.

The meeting concluded with residents expressing hope that the announced projects and assurances would translate into tangible improvements in the coming months, bringing much-needed development to the area.
