Agartala: Mar 02: The Mata Tripura Sundari Open University in Tripura marked a significant milestone with its land worship and foundation stone laying ceremony on Sunday. This new university, estimated to cost 50 crore rupees, aims to make education more accessible across the region. Finance Minister Pranjit Singh Roy, the chief guest, emphasized the importance of open universities in breaking down barriers to traditional learning systems.
The university is expected to enhance Tripura’s educational infrastructure, providing students with better opportunities to pursue their academic goals. Dignitaries present at the event, including Minister Shukla Charan Noatia and MLA Abhishek Debroy, expressed optimism about the project’s potential to improve education quality in Tripura.
The establishment of Mata Tripura Sundari Open University is a crucial step towards achieving this goal. As Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha mentioned earlier, this open university will play a vital role in vocational education for students, similar to those in states like Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, and Gujarat.
The university is also recruiting for key positions, including Registrar and Vice Chancellor, with requirements emphasizing experience in administration and academic leadership .
