Agartala: Feb 07: Sushanta Chowdhury, the Minister of Food, Transport, and Tourism of Tripura, expressed deep concern over the current situation in Bangladesh. He condemned the ongoing killings, terrorism, and the recent destruction of the Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Memorial building in Dhanmondi by bulldozers. This act, led by Dr. Yunus’ interim government, has drawn sharp criticism from Chowdhury, who voiced his disapproval on social media.

In a post today, Chowdhury stated that Bangladesh remains in a perilous situation, describing it as standing on “fire,” with justice exiled and humanity bloodied. He recalled a statement by Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, who once said, “Write my name beside the name of the raped girl’s father, and put the address as Dhanmondi 32.” Chowdhury lamented that the building, symbolic of Bangladesh’s history, has now been destroyed by anti-civilization forces. He emphasized that today, in Bangladesh, protesting means facing bullets, and speaking the truth results in a death sentence.

Chowdhury expressed sorrow that Bangladesh, a country that once fought for freedom, is now seeing the dreams of liberation fade away. He pointed out that speaking against injustice leads to enforced disappearances and seeking justice results in torture. The oppression of religious minorities—Hindus, Buddhists, and Christians—continues, with temples being destroyed and religious festivals under attack. He questioned the world’s silence in the face of such atrocities.

In a tone of frustration, Chowdhury criticized the daily bloodshed in Bangladesh and the cries of innocent people. He questioned the role of the country’s leadership, asking how long this tyranny would continue to destroy humanity. He urged the international community to awaken its conscience and help eliminate this darkness.
