In anticipation of the 77th Republic Day, North Tripura district authorities have implemented stringent security measures across Dharmanagar and surrounding areas to ensure a safe and orderly celebration. Superintendent of Police Avinash Rai confirmed that surveillance has been intensified in key locations, including hotels, vehicles, railway routes, and border zones, as part of a comprehensive security plan to prevent any untoward incidents during the national event.

As part of the preparations, a full dress rehearsal parade was conducted on Saturday at the BBI Ground in Dharmanagar. The rehearsal began at 9:00 AM and featured nine platoons, showcasing exemplary discipline, coordination, and precision in their ceremonial march. The parade aimed to fine-tune the arrangements and ensure smooth execution of the main event on January 26.

The rehearsal was attended by senior officials, including SP Avinash Rai, Dharmanagar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mina Debbarma, SDPO Jayanta Karmakar, and other senior police personnel. Officials closely monitored the parade, providing guidance to ensure flawless coordination among the platoons and timely execution of all ceremonial elements.

Authorities emphasized that the combination of strict security protocols and disciplined parade arrangements reflects the district administration’s commitment to a safe, dignified, and memorable Republic Day celebration. Local police teams have been instructed to maintain vigilance around public gatherings, transport hubs, and sensitive locations, while coordination with border security forces ensures enhanced monitoring of potential threats.

Officials also urged citizens to cooperate with law enforcement authorities by adhering to security instructions and reporting any suspicious activity. The main Republic Day celebrations, including the parade and flag-hoisting ceremony, are scheduled to take place at the same venue, with heightened security ensuring a smooth and trouble-free observance of the 77th Republic Day.

The district administration’s efforts aim to provide residents and visitors alike with a safe environment to celebrate the nation’s unity, sovereignty, and democratic values.
