Agartala: Jan 23: On the occasion of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s birthday, various events were held across Tripura to honor his legacy. Tripura Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu paid floral tributes to Netaji’s full-length statue at Maharajganj market, acknowledging his significant role in India’s independence.
The BJP state office also commemorated the day with respect, where leaders hoisted the flag and offered floral tributes to Netaji’s portrait.
In Dharmanagar, the 128th birth anniversary of Netaji was celebrated with great enthusiasm. The event, organized by the Dharmanagar Municipality and the Dharmanagar District Information and Culture Department, saw participation from various dignitaries, including Dharmanagar Sub-divisional Magistrate Sajal Debnath and Dharmanagar Municipality Chairperson Mitali Das Sen. The national flag was hoisted at Veer Vikram Maidan, followed by a colorful rally with around 3,500 students from nearly 40 schools. Each participating school received honorary mementos.
Kailashahar also paid tribute to Netaji with a program organized by the Ex-Servicemen League and Kailashahar Municipality at the foot of Netaji’s bust at Kailashahar Netaji Corner. The event was attended by Kailashahar Municipality Chairperson Chapala Rani Debray and Kailashahar Sub-divisional Magistrate Pradeep Sarkar.
In Sonamura, the 128th birth anniversary was celebrated jointly by the Sonamura Nagar Panchayat and the Sub-divisional Administration. The event included a morning procession and floral tributes to Netaji’s statue, with participation from Sonamura Nagar Panchayat Chairman Shardha Chakraborty and Sub-divisional Magistrate MK Chakma.
Kamalpur marked the 128th birthday of Netaji with a rally organized by the Kamalpur Nagar Panchayat and the Sub-divisional Administration. Students from various schools participated in the rally, which concluded at the foot of Netaji’s marble statue at Netaji Chowmuhani.
Additionally, Bishalgarh Anand Marg School organized a grand rally on January 23rd to celebrate Netaji’s birthday with students.
