Udaipur, April 28, 2025:
The “Swarnogram Sikshalaya Nababarsha Utsav” (New Year Celebration) was joyfully organized on Monday by Shyam Sundar Co. Jewellers as part of their flagship social initiative, Swarnogram. The event was held in Warengbari, Gomati district — a model village project supported by the company.
The Swarnogram Sikshalaya is a residential school project initiated by Shyam Sundar Co. Jewellers in collaboration with Glory Academy of Warengbari. The initiative ensures holistic support for the village’s underprivileged children, particularly those from the Reang tribal community. The school provides nutritious meals, educational materials, quality teaching staff, sports coaching, and scholarships for meritorious students — all funded by the company.
The New Year celebration began with the floral tribute to Gour Chandra Saha, followed by vibrant performances by children. Tribal songs and the traditional Hojagiri dance performed by Reang children added cultural depth and color to the event. The joyful participation of the children reflected the essence of the occasion — to welcome the new year while embracing their cultural roots.
Distinguished guests included educationist Dr. Jayanta Ghosh and Rishirup and Rupak Saha, Directors of Shyam Sundar Co. Jewellers. The guests highlighted the project’s impact on tribal education and community development. Rupak Saha announced that Dr. Ghosh would join as a mentor for Swarnogram Sikshalaya to further enhance educational quality. Dr. Ghosh expressed pride in being associated with a 16-year-long initiative that has grown beyond expectations.
Rupak Saha also thanked the Tripura government, Ramakrishna Mission, Bharat Sevashram, and the media for their support. He emphasized that the people of Swarnogram have been the real driving force behind the project’s success.
The celebration concluded in a cheerful atmosphere, marking a meaningful start to the Bengali New Year for the children of Swarnogram.
