Agartala: Nov 16: Tripura is about to witness a significant transformation in its Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) thanks to a groundbreaking partnership between the state government and the Tata Group. Over the next five years, 19 ITIs will undergo a revolutionary upgrade, enhancing skill development and employability among Tripura’s youth ¹.
The Tata Group will contribute 86% of the funds, while the Tripura government will pitch in with 14% . Total Investment: A whopping 570 crore 40 lakh rupees will be invested to modernize the training infrastructure across Tripura’s ITIs . Additional Funding: The state government has also secured a loan of 121 crore 87 lakh rupees from NABARD to support this initiative .
Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury revealed these details at a press conference, confirming that a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Tata Technologies is imminent. This partnership will likely focus on providing higher technological know-how to Tripura’s Industries and Commerce department.
The Tata Group’s involvement will undoubtedly bring state-of-the-art technology and expertise to Tripura’s ITIs, empowering the youth with industry-relevant skills .
