Agartala, Aug 29: A wave of enthusiasm has swept across Tripura following the appointment of former Chief Minister and Lok Sabha MP Biplab Kumar Deb as the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) National General Secretary.
The Tripura Pradesh BJP has planned a grand felicitation programme in Agartala on August 30 to honour Deb and celebrate his elevation to the key organisational position. Party leaders have described the appointment as a matter of pride for the state, saying it has generated renewed enthusiasm among BJP workers and supporters.
Tripura Pradesh BJP General Secretary Bhagaban Chandra Das appealed to party workers at all levels to participate in the programme, which will be held at Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhavan in Agartala.
Das said Deb’s appointment to the post of National General Secretary was a significant achievement for Tripura and reflected the importance of the state’s leadership within the BJP’s national organisational structure. He urged party workers and supporters to attend the programme in large numbers and make the felicitation event a success.
According to the party, the programme is expected to witness the participation of BJP leaders from different organisational levels, elected representatives, party workers and supporters from across the state.
Deb is scheduled to receive a warm welcome at Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport in Agartala following his arrival. Party leaders and workers are expected to gather at the airport to extend their greetings and best wishes to him on assuming his new responsibility.
He will subsequently be taken to Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhavan, where the formal felicitation programme will be organised. Party leaders and workers will honour Deb and convey their wishes for his new role in the BJP’s national organisation.
The state BJP has sought to project the appointment as an important moment for Tripura, particularly for the party’s organisational workers and supporters. Leaders believe Deb’s new responsibility at the national level will further strengthen the state’s connection with the BJP’s central leadership.
Das once again appealed to party workers to participate in the August 30 programme in Agartala and ensure that the felicitation event reflects the enthusiasm and support of the state BJP organisation.
The programme is expected to serve as both a felicitation for Deb and an occasion for BJP workers to celebrate his elevation to the national leadership.
