Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Sunday reaffirmed the Tripura government’s dedication to preserving and promoting cultural heritage while addressing a gathering at Sanskriti Haat, a cultural initiative by Bangla Sanskriti Boloy. The occasion marked the celebration of both the 72nd week of the initiative and the Bengali New Year—Naba Barsho Utsav.
Dr. Saha praised the vibrant performances, especially the traditional Jhumur Dance presented by a local group, and lauded the organizers for their consistent efforts in showcasing Tripura’s rich cultural diversity. He emphasized that Sanskriti Haat beautifully reflects the spirit of “unity in diversity,” which is the essence of India’s cultural landscape.
Highlighting the importance of such grassroots initiatives, the Chief Minister mentioned that he would send a video of the programme to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, expressing hope that it might be featured in the PM’s widely popular radio show Mann Ki Baat.
Reiterating his government’s commitment, Dr. Saha stated that preserving and promoting the cultural traditions of Tripura remains a key priority. He stressed that cultural programs like this not only revive traditional art forms but also bring communities together.
The event witnessed the presence of several notable dignitaries, including Bishwajit Shil, Sabhadhipati of Paschim Tripura Zilla Parishad; Nirmal Kumar Deb, President of Agartala Bangla Sanskriti Boloy; Sebak Bhattacharya, President of Bangla Sanskriti Boloy; and Ramakanta Dey, Secretary of Agartala Press Club, among others.
The gathering was a vibrant celebration of culture, tradition, and community spirit, reinforcing the state’s resolve to keep its rich heritage alive through active public participation and government support.
