Agartala, Sep 13 — Tripura Governor Shri Indra Sena Reddy Nallu on Saturday inaugurated a two-day workshop on the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 at the MBB Auditorium of Tripura University. The event has been organised by the Department of Sanskrit in collaboration with the Central Universities Workshop.

In his inaugural address, Governor Nallu highlighted the transformative vision of NEP 2020, describing it as a landmark reform that seeks to align India’s education system with global standards while retaining the country’s cultural and intellectual heritage. He noted that the policy places strong emphasis on multidisciplinary education, research, skill development, and the integration of technology in teaching and learning processes.

The Governor stressed that the implementation of NEP 2020 will particularly benefit states like Tripura, where educational institutions are striving to strengthen academic excellence while ensuring inclusive growth. “This policy provides a roadmap for nurturing creativity, critical thinking, and innovation among students, which are essential for building an Atmanirbhar Bharat,” he said.

The workshop aims to create a platform for academicians, researchers, and policymakers to deliberate on the opportunities and challenges in implementing NEP 2020. Sessions will focus on curriculum reforms, promotion of Indian languages including Sanskrit, capacity building for teachers, and strategies for enhancing employability of graduates.

Senior officials of Tripura University, faculty members, and students attended the inaugural programme. Participants expressed confidence that the deliberations over the two days would provide valuable insights for effectively adopting the provisions of NEP 2020 across institutions in the state.

The Governor commended Tripura University and the Department of Sanskrit for taking the initiative to host the workshop, calling it an important step toward ensuring that the vision of NEP 2020 reaches classrooms and students at the grassroots level.
