Agartala, June 20: Tripura Finance and IT Minister Pranajit Singha Roy has reiterated the state government’s commitment to building a vibrant startup ecosystem and transforming Tripura into a leading digital hub in the Northeast through progressive policies, infrastructure investments, and technology-driven initiatives.

Addressing the 8th Foundation Day celebration of iLogitron Technologies Pvt. Ltd. in Agartala, the Minister highlighted the state’s efforts to promote innovation, entrepreneurship, and employment through initiatives such as the IT/ITeS Policy and the Sector Agnostic Tripura Startup Policy. He said these policies are creating new opportunities for startups while contributing to the state’s economic growth and digital transformation.

Roy announced that a new IT Park will soon be established at Amtali Bypass in Agartala. A proposal has already been submitted to the Union Ministry for approval, and the project is expected to attract a primary investment of at least Rs 500 crore. The facility is aimed at strengthening Tripura’s technology infrastructure and generating employment opportunities for local youth.

The Minister also outlined several initiatives under the vision of a Digital Tripura. Administrative offices are gradually adopting paperless systems, Wi-Fi connectivity has been extended to colleges, and more than 50,000 students have received smartphones under government-supported schemes.

Highlighting another major development, Roy said land has been allotted at Chanmari, Agartala, to Bharti Airtel’s Nxtra division for setting up the largest private data centre and regional corporate office in Northeast India. The Rs 200 crore project is expected to create substantial employment opportunities. He emphasized that companies partnering with the state must prioritize qualified candidates from Tripura during recruitment.

“Our youth must benefit directly from the investments coming into the state. Job security for local talent remains our priority,” the Minister said.

Praising iLogitron Technologies, Roy commended the company for combining technological innovation with social responsibility. Referring to the blood donation camp organized during the event, he noted that voluntary blood donation has evolved into a people’s movement in Tripura, ensuring adequate blood availability across the state.

The programme also featured the felicitation of distinguished blood donors, distribution of desktop computers to educational institutions, and an audio-visual presentation showcasing iLogitron’s eight-year journey in e-Governance, digital transformation, enterprise solutions, and IoT technologies. Senior government officials, industry representatives, and community members attended the event.
