New Delhi, August 24: BJP national spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari on Sunday launched a scathing attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, accusing them of political opportunism and mutual distrust within the INDIA alliance.

Speaking to IANS from West Bengal’s North 24 Parganas district, Bhandari said Tejashwi Yadav prematurely projected Rahul Gandhi as the INDIA bloc’s prime ministerial candidate, while Rahul himself failed to endorse Tejashwi as Bihar’s chief ministerial face. “Rahul Gandhi has reduced Tejashwi to a mere driver in Bihar politics. This reflects the deep-rooted distrust and tug-of-war between Congress and RJD,” Bhandari said.

He alleged that grassroots-level workers of both parties are undermining each other, bound only by what he described as a “common thread of corruption.” Bhandari cited the involvement of Lalu Prasad Yadav in the fodder scam and Rahul Gandhi’s alleged link to the National Herald case to reinforce his claim.

“The 130th Constitutional Amendment Bill is aimed at ensuring that governments aren’t run from jail. Yet, Congress and RJD continue to depend on scam-tainted leaders,” he remarked.

Questioning Tejashwi’s endorsement of Rahul Gandhi as Prime Minister, Bhandari challenged other INDIA bloc leaders like Mamata Banerjee, Sharad Pawar, and Arvind Kejriwal to clarify their positions. “Does the rest of the INDIA alliance back this? Bihar wants development, not a coalition of the corrupt,” he said.

He also criticized Rahul Gandhi’s stance on national security, claiming that “the Gandhi-Vadra family speaks the language of Pakistan and questions the Indian Army.”

Bhandari concluded confidently that the people of India would once again choose Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2029, with the NDA returning to power with an absolute majority, driven by its development agenda.
