Agartala: Jan 22: The ongoing Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, a grand two-month festival, is one of the world’s largest spiritual gatherings, drawing millions of devotees to take a holy dip in the sacred confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers. Beyond this massive event, India today marks a historic milestone—the completion of one year since the installation of the idol of Ram Lalla at the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. On January 22, 2024, the much-awaited ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony took place, symbolizing the formal consecration of Lord Ram’s idol in the newly constructed temple.

This event ended a long and contentious legal and political battle over the ownership and development of the Ram Janmabhoomi site, which has been a focal point of faith and controversy for centuries. The inauguration on January 22, 2024, was attended by thousands of devotees and dignitaries, marking a momentous occasion for millions of Hindus around the world.

While the Ram Mandir’s inauguration occurred a year ago, the celebrations surrounding it have continued. From January 11 to 13, 2025, a series of rituals, prayers, and cultural events were held to honour Lord Ram, with saints and devotees actively participating. These rituals not only celebrate the divine but also reaffirm faith in unity, history, and religious devotion.

The timing of these celebrations is of great significance as they align with auspicious dates in the Hindu lunar calendar. On Kurma Dwadashi, during the Shukla Paksha of Paush month, the sacred rituals of the Ram Mandir took place, reinforcing the importance of choosing dates based on the Hindu calendar to ensure spiritual success. This convergence of faith and tradition highlights the deep reverence with which such moments are approached within the Indian spiritual landscape.
