Agartala, April 21 — Mohan Bhagwat, the chief of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, on Tuesday took part in the Prana Pratishtha ceremony of the Maa Chinmayi Soundarya Temple at Mohanpur in West Tripura. The consecration event was held at Fakira Mura and witnessed the presence of prominent dignitaries, including Tripura Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu, Maharashtra Governor Jishnu Dev Varma, and Chief Minister Manik Saha.

The ceremony coincided with the observance of Adi Shankaracharya Jayanti, adding spiritual significance to the occasion. Chief Minister Saha shared that the rituals included the consecration and Kumbhabhisheka of a 15-foot granite idol of Maa Soundarya Chinmoyee, installed within the Chinmaya Mission School परिसर. He highlighted that the temple परिसर features 27 intricately designed pillars engraved with verses from Saundarya Lahari, symbolising the 27 Nakshatras.

Constructed under the guidance of the Chinmaya Mission International, the temple stands out for its unique open-roof design, representing an unobstructed connection with the divine. According to Amit Rakshit, President of the Chinmaya Seva Trust, the temple is dedicated to Maa Tripura Sundari and aims to serve as a centre for devotion, contemplation, and learning.

The sanctum houses the main black stone idol alongside a smaller replica inspired by the renowned Tripura Sundari Temple for daily worship. Priests from Nepal officiated the rituals, ensuring traditional authenticity.

The event marks a significant addition to Tripura’s spiritual landscape, blending architectural elegance with cultural heritage. Fakira Mura is now expected to emerge as a prominent destination for devotees and spiritual seekers across t

he region.
